The UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development includes 17 global goals. The ambition is to eliminate extreme poverty, reduce inequalities, promote peace and justice, and protect our planet together with its natural resources.
It is the most ambitious agenda for sustainable development that the world has ever agreed on. It requires huge efforts from all actors in society in order to achieve the 17 goals, since the terms are not legally binding.
To reach Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) where both public and private initiatives are encouraged requires economic growth, as well as environmental and social development.
Our Company is determined to contribute to all SDGs. We will focus on those most relevant to our business and activities, where we can contribute the most.
These goals are identified as:
Goal1: End Poverty in All Its Forms Everywhere
People who continue to live in extreme poverty face deep, entrenched deprivation often exacerbated by violent conflicts and vulnerability to disasters. Strong social protection systems and government spending on key services often help those left behind get back on their feet and escape poverty.

Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy
Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all. By changing how we produce and consume energy, we can secure access to energy services for everyone without damaging our planet.
Our main contribution:
- Create the Opalus Future Initiative to Promotes Access to Solar Lamps.
- Active Choices of Energy Sources Regarding Projects.
- Develop Energy-efficient products, which contributes to reduced electricity consumption.
Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
We are commited to make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable. Innovative urban planning is necessary with sustainable development of housing, infrastructure, and public places.
Our main contribution:
- Sustainable urban light
- Promote safer outdoor environments with customized solutions
Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns with our operations and projects we are involved.
Our main contribution:
- Producing products of high quality and with long lifetime
- Increasing and consistent light due to controls, which decrease the number of luminaires needed to be used
- Sustainable manufacturing investment
Goal 13: Climate Action
We are commited to take urgent action to combat climate change and its impact.
Our main contribution:
- Reduced energy consumption through energy efficient lighting solutions
- Conducts R&D for advanced technology with less environmental impact
- Resource-efficient and environmentally-controlled production
